Al Boraq High-Speed Train: Timetable, Fares and How to Book

Al Boraq is the high-speed train between Casablanca and Tangier. On ONCF’s timetable valid from 14 September 2026 the trip takes 2h17, with stops at Rabat Agdal and Kenitra. Below you get the full timetable, the cheap Yalla fare (89 DH in 2nd class), luggage rules and the small details that catch people out. If you are building a longer route, the Morocco itinerary shows where this train fits.

Sources checked 5 November 2026: ONCF’s Al Boraq timetable (PDF), its Yalla Al Boraq page, its works notice and its conditions of sale. Check the date you travel, because ONCF changes timetables around the works on the Kenitra to Marrakech line.

Al Boraq opened in November 2018. Reports give a top speed of 320 km/h on the dedicated line between Tangier and Kenitra, while the section from Kenitra to Casablanca uses upgraded conventional track, which is why the whole trip is not as quick as the top speed suggests. ONCF also says the trains run on 100% wind energy.

Timetable

Every Al Boraq follows the same pattern, only the hour changes. This is the 06:00 train from Casa Voyageurs as an example, from ONCF’s official grid:

StationArrivesLeaves
Casa Voyageurs06:00
Rabat Agdal06:5006:55
Kenitra07:2507:28
Tanger Ville08:17

Casa Voyageurs to Tanger: trains leave at 06:00, 07:00, 08:00, 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00 and 21:00. Add 2h17 for the arrival, so the last train reaches Tanger Ville at 23:17.

Tanger to Casa Voyageurs: the departure hours are the same, 06:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 21:00. Going this way the train calls at Kenitra (06:50 arrival for the first train), then Rabat Agdal (07:22), and reaches Casa Voyageurs at 08:17. The last one arrives at 23:17.

  • There is no 13:00 train in either direction. If you miss the 12:00, the next one is at 14:00.
  • The 06:00 trains do not run on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, and they are not a daily train even on weekdays: our search for Wednesday 18 November showed 07:00 as the first one. ONCF advertised extra 06:00 and 20:00 trains for Friday 6 November.
  • The 20:00 trains run only on Fridays and Sundays, according to the grid.

ONCF says its new transport plan from 14 September 2026 comes from the works on the high-speed line to Marrakech and that times on several lines shift by a few minutes. Its notice does not list Casa to Tanger among the lines that changed, but check your date on oncf-voyages.ma before you buy.

Stations and stops

  • Casa Voyageurs: the Casablanca station for Al Boraq. Trains from Mohammed V airport now end here (ONCF works notice, from 14 September 2026), so you change at Casa Voyageurs for Tangier. Check the connection time.
  • Rabat Agdal: the timetable lists Rabat Agdal, not Rabat Ville. If your hotel is near Rabat Ville, plan a short taxi ride. See the Rabat travel guide.
  • Kenitra: a short stop, about three minutes. It is also where the Al Atlas trains from Marrakech now end their run towards Tangier.
  • Tanger Ville: the terminus. From here you can continue to the ferry to Spain (Tangier to Spain by ferry) or on to the blue city (Fes to Chefchaouen to Tangier).

Going south, Al Boraq is the first half of many trips. For the second half, read Casablanca to Marrakech by train.

Prices and the Yalla fare

ONCF sells a flat fare called Yalla Al Boraq: 89 DH in 2nd class and 129 DH in 1st class, on any Al Boraq train, all year, as long as seats are left. ONCF lists three routes for it: Tanger Ville to Casa Voyageurs, Tanger Ville to Rabat Agdal and Tanger Ville to Kenitra.

Yalla Al BoraqWhat ONCF says
Price89 DH (2nd class), 129 DH (1st class)
When to buyAt the latest 7 days before travel, and the earlier the better
SeatsLimited per train
Changes and refundsNot exchangeable and not refundable
With other discountsCannot be combined with cards or current promotions

The catch is flexibility. If your plans might move, a Yalla ticket is a bad fit, because you lose the money if you miss the train.

Outside Yalla, the regular price depends on the train and the day. We ran a live search on oncf-voyages.ma for Casa Voyageurs to Tanger Ville on Wednesday 18 November 2026, 13 days ahead, one adult. These are the “from” prices ONCF showed:

Train (direct Al Boraq, 2h17)2nd class1st class
07:00190 DH300 DH
08:00 to 11:00205 DH300 DH
12:00 to 17:00225 DH300 DH (read up to 14:00)
18:00205 DHnot read
19:00 and 21:00190 DHnot read

The 89 DH fare did not appear on that search, so do not count on it for a particular day. Prices move with the train, the date and the seats left, and many trains were marked as limited, so check your own date. ONCF also lists slower options with a change: one 10:19 trip with a change at Rabat Agdal takes 2h58 and cost 205 DH, and conventional trains with a change took 5h25 to 7h13 from 125 DH in 2nd class.

How to book

  • Online at oncf-voyages.ma. Pick the exact train, date and class.
  • At the station counters or ticket machines.
  • Through partner agents such as CHAABI CASH, TASSHILAT and CASH PLUS (ONCF names them on its Yalla page).

Your ticket is valid only for the train, date, time, class and route printed on it, so it is not an open day pass. If you need help, ONCF’s customer centre number is 2255.

Luggage, children and groups

Luggage. ONCF allows hand luggage you can carry and lift yourself, free: suitcases, travel bags and backpacks, up to 1.2 m by 0.6 m by 0.4 m. We found no stated limit on the number of bags, only the size rule and the rule not to block aisles. Keep your bags in sight, because ONCF says it is not responsible for unattended ones. Folded bicycles in a cover, skis and folded baby strollers are also accepted, one item per passenger.

Children. Ages 4 to 15 pay a reduced fare, children under 4 travel free on an adult’s lap, and from 15 you pay the adult fare.

Groups. ONCF’s small group offer gives 10% off in 2nd class and 15% off in 1st class for 3 to 9 people on Al Boraq and Al Atlas trains. Group tickets are bought at the station counter. Online, the reduced-fare option stops at 6 people.

Tips before you go

  • Buy at least a week ahead if you want Yalla, but have a plan B. Seats at 89 DH are limited and did not show on our search.
  • Leave time between the 12:00 and the 14:00 train, because there is nothing at 13:00.
  • Do not plan around the 06:00 train. It does not run every day, and the first train on our Wednesday search was 07:00.
  • Day trip? The last train leaves Tangier at 21:00 and reaches Casa Voyageurs at 23:17, so plan how you get home from the station that late.
  • For day-to-day costs once you arrive, see Morocco travel cost and Getting around Morocco.
