Agadir, Morocco Travel Guide: The Beach Resort, Planned Properly

Agadir is a beach base on the south coast, and the practical questions are how to reach it and how to get to Taghazout. This guide uses the airports authority’s fixed taxi fares and live coach searches. For budgets see the Morocco travel cost guide.
Sources checked 2026-10-23: ONDA’s official taxi and bus pages for Agadir Al Massira airport, live searches on ctm.ma and supratours.ma for Wednesday 4 November 2026 (1 adult), and the Ministry of Culture’s ticket portal. We found no official page for the Kasbah Oufella entry or for a cable car, so we give no price for either.
From the airport
Agadir Al Massira has a taxi station at the arrivals esplanade, open every day. ONDA publishes a fixed fare table, which beats haggling:
| Destination | Fixed taxi fare |
|---|---|
| Agadir (including Inezgane and Ait Melloul) | 200 DH |
| Taghazout and Aourir | 300 DH |
| Taroudant, Tiznit, Ait Baha | 450 DH |
| Mirleft | 700 DH |
| Essaouira | 1,000 DH |
| Marrakech | 1,200 DH |
ONDA also says bus shuttles run between the airport and Agadir. ALSA, which runs Agadir’s city buses, has its own airport shuttle page: 50 minutes to the central interchange (Vallee des oiseaux), 50 DH one way or 80 DH return (valid 15 days), roughly hourly to every two hours from about 04:00 to midnight on weekdays, with shorter hours at weekends. Tickets are sold on board or at ALSA’s desk at the airport.
Coaches from Marrakech and to Essaouira
Marrakech to Agadir is easy by road. CTM ran 9 departures a day at 135 to 170 DH (2h50 to 3h30). Supratours ran 11 a day at 135 to 150 DH (about 3h30 to 3h45). The 170 DH CTM departure was marked Premium on the booking page. For routes from other cities, see getting around Morocco.
From Agadir to Essaouira, only CTM ran the route on our search: three departures (08:15, 11:30 and 13:30), 3h30 to 3h50, 105 to 110 DH. Supratours showed no result for this route.
There is no train to Agadir. ONCF sells a train and coach ticket, with a change at Marrakech, which is slower than a direct coach from Marrakech.
Taghazout
Taghazout is the surf village north of Agadir. Neither CTM nor Supratours serves it, but ALSA’s city line L32 runs from Agadir to Taghazout Village, via Aourir, Tamraght and Km 17. ALSA’s fare table shows stage fares of 4.50 to 7.50 DH depending on the zones crossed, and a full Agadir to Taghazout trip falls in the 5.50 to 7.50 DH band. The timetable widget on ALSA’s site did not show times when we checked, so look at the stop. By taxi, ONDA’s fixed fare from the airport is 300 DH. For a taxi from Agadir city we found no official fare, so agree the price first. Our Taghazout surf guide covers the village.

The Kasbah and the beach
The old Kasbah Oufella stands on the hill above the city, and the view over the bay is the reason to go. It is not on the Ministry of Culture’s online ticket platform, and secondary sources describe the site as having no formal entry fee, which we could not confirm. ALSA’s line L24 runs from Pied Oufella to the Kasbah Oufella viewpoint, so you can reach it by bus. Cable car rides seen on booking sites are tour products, not an official attraction with a fixed fare, so check any price you are quoted.

Other coaches from Agadir
On the date we searched, CTM ran Agadir to Tiznit 14 times a day (40 to 50 DH, 2h to 3h), Agadir to Taroudant once a day at 09:00 (65 DH, 1h55) and Agadir to Casablanca on 7 to 8 departures (285 to 345 DH, 5h30 to 7h30).
Flights
ONDA’s arrivals board for Agadir Al Massira on 23 October 2026 showed direct flights from Manchester and London Stansted (Jet2) and London Gatwick (easyJet), plus Paris, Brussels, Barcelona, Montpellier, Krakow, Warsaw and other European cities, and Casablanca on Royal Air Maroc. It is a one-day snapshot.
How long to stay
For a beach stop, a few nights is enough, with Taghazout and the hills as day trips. If Agadir is one stop on a southern route, two nights cover it. See the Morocco itinerary for where it fits.
