How We Write and Check Our Guides

Atlas & Routes is an independent Morocco travel guide. Our aim is simple: every fare, price and time you read here should come from an official source or be clearly labelled as reported, and every guide should show the date we last checked it.

Where our figures come from

• Transport: train fares and times from ONCF, coach fares and times from CTM and Supratours, ferries from DFDS and Balearia, motorway tolls from ADM. We read the operators’ own booking sites for a stated date and one adult.
• Weather and heritage: climate averages from the WMO World Weather Information Service (data from Morocco’s national met service), heritage dates and descriptions from UNESCO.
• Entry prices: the Ministry of Culture ticket portal, the Hassan II Mosque foundation and the Jardin Majorelle ticket site.
• Travel advice and rules: the UK, Canadian and US governments’ official travel advice for Morocco.
• Airports: ONDA, the airports authority, for taxi and bus information.

What “reported” means

Some prices have no official source online, for example many tour prices, hammams, riads and restaurants. In those cases we use booking sites, magazines or travel guides, and we say so with words such as “reported” or “from booking sites”. We never present such a figure as an official tariff. Where we could not confirm something, we write “check current price” instead of guessing.

Dates on every guide

Each guide shows when it was last checked, and lists its sources at the end. Fares, timetables and prices move with demand and the season, so treat the numbers as a planning range and confirm them with the operator before you book. Our worked examples are our own arithmetic from the figures shown, and are labelled that way.

Independence and advertising

The site is supported by advertising. Ads do not decide what we write, which sources we use or what we recommend. We do not accept payment for placement in a guide. If we ever use affiliate links, we will label them clearly.

Corrections

If you find a fare, time or price that is out of date, write to contact@atlasandroutes.com and say which guide and which figure. We check it against the official source, correct the guide and update its “last checked” date. You can also use our contact page.
